Luxe Minimalist Japanese Design at Parc Komo

At Parc Komo, we were tasked with transforming a residence into a serene haven that embodies the principles of luxe minimalist interior design with Japanese aesthetics. Our goal was to create a space that balanced warm beige paneling, wood, and stone textures, while using clean lines and warm lighting to accentuate planes and arches, seamlessly framing views throughout the space.

Embodiment of Japanese Aesthetics

This project highlights two key aspects of Japanese aesthetics:

• Clean Lines and Calm Palette: The design features clean lines and a light wood color palette, creating a serene atmosphere. A Buddha altar and an integrated storage unit, which includes a shoe and TV console, greet visitors upon entry. A large mirror in the dining area enhances the spacious living room.
• Kawaii, Cutesy Spirit: The twin girls’ room showcases a whimsical design with a color-changing cloud-shaped ceiling, pink polka dot wallpaper, and striped blinds, creating a dreamy space. The study room across the hallway complements this with a pink dome-shaped mindful corner integrated into a bay window, serving as a disciplinary area when needed.

Another Japanese spirit applied in this apartment is the space-saving technique, demonstrated in the master bedroom. A walk-in wardrobe with a jewellery display is ingeniously crafted into this tiny but cozy bedroom.

Living and Dining Area: A Clean and Calm Aesthetic

The living room features beige-colored sofas and dining chairs that create a unified look. Diners can enjoy meals while overlooking the TV, fostering great conversation. A huge mirror behind the dining area expands the space visually, enhancing openness. The dining table, with brass legs and a marble top, stands out, complemented by a unique chandelier with wavy lines for elegance.

Pantry Area: Versatile Space for Networking and Relaxation

Adjacent to the living and dining areas, the high table area serves as a versatile pantry space. It’s perfect for networking and catching up over drinks, with a modern chandelier adding a contemporary touch. Crafted from light wood, the pantry offers ample storage. It includes a small coffee station, maintaining the room’s clean, uncluttered aesthetic with its floating design.

Study Room and Mindful Corner: Playful and Fun

In a departure from the neutral tones, the study room or “mindful corner” introduces a playful touch with light pink hues. The striped walls, built-in wardrobes, and blinds reflect the soft pink color theme. The room features two study tables positioned back-to-back, with a bench by the window offering a perfect spot for relaxation.

Girl’s Bedroom: Continuation of Playful Themes

The girl’s bedroom continues the playful theme with two single beds flanking a feature wall that displays books and frames. The striped blind serves as a backdrop, creating a cohesive look with the rest of the home’s design.

Office: Corporate Elegance

The office space is designed with a more corporate, yet relaxed feel, using brown tones and black blinds. An L-shaped study table laminated in brown provides ample workspace, with two working areas catering to different needs.

Master Bedroom: Luxurious Serenity

The master bedroom embodies luxurious serenity with beige tones and a velvet bed head. Beige panelling on the walls and a feature wall with storage space in front of the bed add to the room’s elegance. The floating storage design, combined with a thin LED TV, maintains the minimalist aesthetic.

Our design for this Parc Komo project successfully integrates luxe minimalist interior design with Japanese aesthetics. By balancing warm beige paneling, wood, and stone textures, and incorporating clean lines and warm lighting, we created a harmonious, serene living space.
